Rev. Robert Lowry

Dear Friends,

Welcome!

I am so glad you have visited the digital home of Westover Hills Presbyterian Church. Here you will find information and some insight to who we are as a community of faith. But to really get a sense of WHPC, I hope you will visit.

Westover Hills is a community of faith committed to sharing the home and love of God with the world. We are a Matthew 25 congregation in the Presbyterian Church (USA). Matthew 25 congregations commit themselves to three core principles:

· Dismantling Structural Racism

· Eliminating Systemic Poverty

· Building Vital Congregations

These principles inform who we are and what we do in the world.

Since our founding, WHPC has been a voice for justice and equality in Little Rock and beyond. The values that led the church to take a stand against segregation in the 1950’s guide us today as we work for equity and inclusion for all people. Our ministry to incarcerated persons and outreach to the LGBTQIA+ community are part of our commitment to reaching people who are forced to the margins of our culture and society. In the eyes of God, every one of us is a beloved child and at WHPC we strive to make that a reality in the world.

Of all the things to love about WHPC, community tops the list. We are a community of friends and neighbors who care for one another in times of need and celebrate with one another in times of joy. We believe that together we can be far more than we can ever hope to be apart.

Whether you are looking for a new church home, just dipping your toes in the world of religion, or simply need a port in the storm of this often-crazy world, we hope you will give WHPC a chance.

Peace, Pastor Robert Lowry
