Christian education is a vital part of the life of Westover Hills. In order to better understand God's will for the world and to discover ways that we might respond to God's call, Westover Hills Presbyterian Church employs a full-time Director of Christian Education who teaches, directs, supervises, plans the curriculem and selects teaching materials with the assistance of the CE committee and the Session. We offer a variety of educational opportunities, including Bible study and special programs. Sunday school classes for all ages from preschool through adult meet from 9:30 - 10:15 every Sunday morning. Sunday School Classes for Adults: there are three (3) adult class offerings at Westover Hills. The Lectionary Class, is lead by Rev. Bill McWeeny. The Richard B. Hardie Class, taught by Rev. Don Campbell, is a bible study class; as is the third class taught by Rev. Sally Johnson. Special Classes: Periodically Westover Hills offers Bible study classes using Kerygma or similar study materials. These classes are offered on week nights, Sunday afternoons or mid-day and might cover such topics as Handel's Messiah, a particular book in the Bible, or Christian doctrine. Other special learning opportunities: Activities include events held for children during the Sunday School hour in conjunction with significant seasons of the church year. These include Advent, Lent, Pentecost and World Communion events where the children meet together to participate in activities related to the special season. UPDATED 01/17/2011 05:32:56 PM
