Westover Men

The Westover Men were established in 2011 under the leadership of Sid McCollum.  The men meet in the chapel of WHPC at 6:30 on the second Thursday of each month. On occasion, the evening meeting is alternated with a Saturday breakfast meeting. Westover Men are involved in a number of ministries for the church including the Farmer’s Market, 5th Sunday Brunch and the WHPC Annual Art Show and Sale.  They also assist the WHPC Presbyterian Women each year with the Treats and Treasures Sale, by picking up and delivering items to the church and helping individuals carry merchandise to their cars on the day of the sale.

Art Show & Sale

The WHPC Art Show held in the Fellowship Hall on Saturday, September 21st was a great success. Thirty-two artists completely filled the Fellowship Hall. Art of all kinds was available for viewing and buying including paintings, pottery, photos, notecards, furniture, etc.  The Presbyterian Women graciously provided cookies and snacks, orange juice and coffee for artists and attendees. Four Westover members (Charlie Frith, Emily Wood, Don Jordan and Nancy Jordan) participated in the event. The artists had many of compliments for WHPC as they were packing up and leaving, and said they were looking forward to coming back for next year’s show.

5th Sunday Breakfast

Westover Men host a Brunch on each 5th Sunday of the year for all WHPC members.  The brunch is held in the Fellowship Hall from 9:15 – 10:00 a.m.,  and no Sunday School classes are held on that day.  The men have prepared delicious meals, offering pancakes, cheese grits, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, and coffee and juice.   Once each year, the Westover Choir relieves the Westover Men from cooking and serve an assortment of quiche, casseroles, muffins, coffee cake and fresh fruit.
